It’s a little-known fact that synchronised swimming was actually started by turtles before being adopted as an
Olympic sport. Each year on a remote tropical island, the turtles would secure palm fronds to their legs and after a
small land routine that is best described as a boot scoot, fall into the water together to perform an incredible display
of perfectly synchronised sculling and water wheels.
