As the eagerly awaited World Championships begin in Hungary we caught up with British F-Teamer Molly Renshaw before her competitions.

The World Short Course Breaststroke Champion is calm and confident after positive preparations in the build-up to Budapest.

"In the past 12 months I've tried to work hard on just racing what is in front of me rather than think about whether it is a semi-final or a final. I know that if I race at my best then the rest will take care of itself in terms of positions," Molly tells us.

Molly is now in peak condition after some rigorous training at swim camps in Thailand and Japan wearing her colourful and comfy Funkitas!

The 2016 Olympics saw her reach the 200m Breaststroke final, an achievement which has helped her stay strong and focused for the World Championships.

"I've definitely matured a lot in the past 12 months and I put that down to competing in Rio. It was such an amazing experience and it has given me more confidence and belief that if I race at my best then the results will come," says Molly.

For elite swimmers travelling is essential. It sounds exciting to non-athletes, but is often restricted to hotels, competition venues, changing rooms and airports; with limited time for sight-seeing. Every so often though there are chances to visit the local attractions after racing: a reward for all the hard work!

"I've never been to Budapest but I've heard it's beautiful and I can't wait to get out and explore the city. We're very lucky to get these kind of opportunities to see different places," Molly explains.

Before she enjoys this opportunity, 21-year old Molly will be competing in the 100m and 200m breaststroke at the World Champs and we wish her medal success in both events.
